Sake2Me Sushi in Hays

Sake 2 Me was able to accommodate my request for no rice in my rolls, which was a big deal to me! #KetoFriendly Their sushi rolls are always good. We managed to go when they had a special on the specialty rolls which was a nice surprise. Service can be slow depending on the amount of customers just like any restaurant. Everything was fresh and delicious. **Updated for new menu pictures

I come here all the time. I LOVE it! The service is always great and the good is phenomenal. The bang bang shrimp is a must try. Don't sleep on the steak burgers! They're one of the best burgers in town.

Sushi was fresh and delicious! We sat at the bar and the sushi chef was busy, but still took the time to talk to us while he worked. We will definitely be returning.

My family visited on a Friday evening. It took more than 20 minutes to get our appetizer order. My sons food came before the appetizer. The waitress said she would discount our bill, but it was not done. Food was just ok. Not worth the wait.

Small, fun Sushi place on the main drag in Hays, KS. Sake2me not only has a clever name but also some young, hip people running it. The place was pretty filled and seemed popular with the locals. Surprisingly saw little to no Japanese among the wait staff. With mostly heavy metal and rock and roll music playing, this also seemed a little out of place for a Japanese Sushi place. The food was good and there was even a 'happy hour special' on the prices for some of the Sushi rolls on the menu. Our favorite was the crunchy Salmon rolls which we made sure we got a repeat order. Would recommend this place if you are in the mood for Sushi in Hays.

Delicious rolls and a good atmosphere. The staff is also very nice and helpful. Plenty of draft beer and other drinks as well.

Don't let the old time gas station look of the outside fool you. This place has excellent food combined with a great atmosphere and excellent service. We had a rainbow roll, west philly roll and a dessert roll. Rolls are good sized portions and the dessert roll is massive; make sure you have someone special to share it with!

A surprisingly good sushi source. Don't let prices mislead you the sushi rolls are very large and filling

I had the Friday the 13th roll on May the 25th, which seems risky, but I can assure you the choice was worth it.

A must stop for travelers. Excellent sushi, fried rice and house favorite Bang Bang Shrimp. For those who do not like sushi other items on menu. Oyster bar. 🤗🤗😁😎

Great wait staff and still has great sushi. I'm enjoying the angry shrimp dish. Asked to keep the kick, but still taste the shrimp -- perfect!

Absolutely love this sushi bar. The mojitos are to die for and so is any sushi roll I’ve ever ordered. I’ve been treating myself to sake2me since they started this business out of their basement 10 years ago. A true gem in the middle of western Kansas!

Our server Aleska was very kind and friendly to us, even though we arrived just 15 minutes before closing. She made an effort to recommend tasty dishes and craft beer and the best deals available to us. We appreciated her and felt well taken care of. Everything was delicious and we will be back.

Awesome sushi place!! I didn't make it in to town till 930. They let me walk in at 940pm and still order. Special of the day was the Crab Rangoon roll which really was what it sounds like while also being the single best roll I have ever had! Next time I'm through KS I'll be stopping here. Trendy atmosphere, good music, friendly waitresses, and the chef came out to personally make sure everything was good. Only complaint is minor - these rolls were so fat I couldn't get one whole piece in per bite. Knife and fork sushi?

Sake 2 Me is a great place to grab some sushi in Hays, Ks. Cesar is amazing and friendly and so is the staff. Love this place!!

One of our favorite places in Hays. The menu changed a while back and I sure wish they'd bring back some items ( pork stir fry anyone?) But the rolls are fantastic and the drinks are pretty good!

Great sushi and food

Delicious every time. I have had many rolls and each has been expertly prepared and so good.

Hays, USA has been on the receiving end of an Asian restaurant explosion over the last couple of years. Sake2Me is the town's original sushi joint. In the many times I've eaten here, I've probably had but one meal that wasn't great. Prices are quite reasonable for what you get (they understand how Midwesterners eat). Bring a sweater if you get cold easily. The old gas station can be a bit drafty!

Had three rolls which were all fantastic! More than enough for two people. Wait staff is always super friendly!

We stopped here on our road trip, and we're amazed at this gem in the middle of otherwise rural Kansas. Great food. Friendly service. Great selection. Two thumbs up!

Was suggested to me to try while in Hays on business. I was the only one in the restaurant for a while. Good beer selection and friendly service. I had to rate it a two because the sushi was disappointing at best. I ordered my fav spicy tuna roll and the only other roll that didn't seem heavy on tempora or frozen seafood like crab or shrimp. The spicy tuna had a great deal of filler in it, can't recall if it was cucumber or celery but was too much. The rainbow roll was colorful but the salmon was not cut properly and I had a large piece of fat/skin. It also did tasted "fishier" than I'm accustomed to w sushi. I can see how this place appeals to people that may not be familiar with sushi or may be afraid to try something traditional. I hope people realize this sushi is not standard sushi and expectations should be higher.

In my opinion I feel like everything is overpriced. The rolls are on the smallish size and I feel like I have to spend at least 30 dollars (per person) for a decent meal. Presentation is okay but once you order a few rolls for yourself and a +1 party, the table gets crowded pretty quick. They had a special on there "specialty rolls" which had me excited. I went with a volcano roll and basically they downsized it all. Service is usually hit or miss as is the wait time. I love sushi but at the prices they demand for quantity, I'd rather just eat elsewhere from now on. I mean.. come on now, 15 or 18 dollars for some of your specialty rolls?

We had the Spicy Tuna Roll, Spring Rolls, Fish Tacos, and a side salad. For two of us that was plenty, and it all was delicious.

More Than Just Seafood exclamation we really enjoyed the steak and it's Artful preparation in a roll. Even if you don't think you like sushi, here you will love sushi!

Helpful staff & great sushi

Almost as we plan to go to Hays, the first step is what to eat. After a random call to try Sake2me. My heart was so hot when my mouth and eyes were on fire. I had for the first time experienced this one heck of getting a shrimp with FLAVOR EVER. what I had and every time I get a chance for something, no matter what. You must have a lot of interest for anything but fast food chains. THE ONLY QUESTION ,when will you try and get blown off Kansas indulge in Bang Bang Shrimp. It's the only place I want to do spending time in Hays.

I was a frequent eater at this restaurant. Me an my fiancé ordered through the Hays2go website an entire meal. It cost $65. The order was COMPLETELY wrong. While I tried to sort out the issues between these two companies they both claimed the other party was the one who made the mistakes. Neither company will compensate for their mistakes. I had to bite the bullet on a $65 meal me and my fiancé couldn’t even eat. Neither company is taking ownership and so I’m the one having to pay for it. Wish there was something I could do to hold these companies accountable.

Was really looking forward to eating here. Ordered sushi rolls at 6:51. Server came by once to refill drinks. Nothing else until 7:35 when we asked how much longer until our food was ready. Was told it'd be another 20 minutes. Shouldn't have to wait an hour for sushi. At the very least, would have appreciated more communication.

Ninja roll is not what it used to be, the ninja roll is fried calamari with some spicy stuff and the roll is also fried and it used to be the best roll IMO but now they have covered it with like a mozzarella stick breading and replaced the calamari with spicy tuna? Yea was not impressed as I always order the ninja roll and is delicious have had it many times , not cool whomever changed the recipe, customer lost, no longer have miso soup either .

Good sushi. I wasn't a fan of the atmosphere, too busy and clustered for me.

The service is always friendly and fast, the sushi is amazing (my go to is the Salmon Mango roll), and the environment is always clean. Never had anything to complain about, and the sushi options are both unique and traditional.

Having lived in Hawaii and eaten at some high end places in Vegas my expectations for sushi in Hays were fairly low, but, the Friday the 13th roll was awesome! Calamari was good as well. I really liked the vib and decor was cool too. Will definitely make this my go to stop between Topeka and Denver.

Good food quality. Busy but friendly atmosphere. Nice decor. Not quiet cozy or romantic. Good service.

Our experience was great. Our server greeted us at the door and let us pick where we wanted to sit. The restaurant is small, about 12 tables, and a bar you can sit at. It is a light, airy and friendly atmosphere. Our server handed us our menus and told us what the two specials were. When she returned with our drinks, she was very happy to answer all our questions. We had 3 different sushi rolls and a tempura shrimp roll, which was huge. All the food was very good and our service was great. I highly recommend this place if you like sushi and you are in the Hays Area.
